Thoughts on music

I was wondering "Why does music affect us so deeply?". Then this thought came into my head. As babies in the womb all we hear is the heartbeat and some other body noise. So maybe we get used to it and then our brain relates music to the security of the womb. But on the other side, why don't animals listen to music. And can we even hear, while we're in the womb? idk.
